About BalletNJ
Ballet NJ is a non-profit organization dedicated to our youth and the performing arts. Formerly known as the Children’s
Ballet Theater, since it's creation in 1983, Ballet NJ has provided a much needed venue for young ballet students from
dance studios throughout South / Central New Jersey to blossom as dancers and perform in full-length ballet productions.
To date, Ballet NJ has staged twenty five magical performances of the Nutcracker in the fall, with over 100 cast members
each. Other full-length ballets performed in the spring by the company include The Sleeping Beauty, The Adventures of
Dorothy, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Swan Lake and La Bayadère which received excellent reviews from Dancer Magazine.
In addition to the students, we feature guest artist from the Pennsylvania Ballet. This is not a recital, but a full
production with professional sets and lighting. Each performance draws audiences of over 7500 area residences each year.
Matinees performed for school children have introduced many students to the magic and music of ballet and many children
have gone on to dance after their experience with Ballet NJ.
Performances are held at the Vorheese Middle School in Voorhees, New Jersey. Rehearsals are held at The Academy of Ballet
NJ in West Berlin, New Jersey. Please see the Map page for directions to the studio and school.
